Woburn Lido was given to the people of Woburn in 1911 as a gift from His Grace the Duke of Bedford. Since then it has been a popular summer attraction for the residents of Woburn and the surrounding villages. The pool itself still conforms to the same dimensions as it did in 1911 and thus is 23 metres (25 yards) long and 9 metres (10 yards) wide.
Whilst the lido provides an opportunity for a refreshing dip, it also has a number of seating areas and a large grassed area. During the summer this area will be filled with guests enjoying sunbathing, picnicing or even reading a book. Not only does this provide a place to rest after being in the pool, but it also serves as a congregation area where people can meet and come together.
The goal of Woburn Lido is to give the residents of Woburn and the surrounding area both a swimming pool that can be used for training and exercise, and also a place to go with the family. The team works tirelessly to make sure that user comfort and satisfaction is at it's maximum.
